Sasikala, who was sentenced to 4 years in jail in an embezzlement case, has been lodged in a Bangalore jail since February 2017. In this context, the case filed by the Commissioner of the Income Tax Department alleging reduction of income came up for hearing in the Chennai High Court today. At that time, the lawyer appearing for Sasikala said that Sasikala was likely to be released on the 27th. He also demanded an explanation and an opportunity to file a reply petition. Following this, the judges adjourned the case to February 4.
